Plan to export whale meat.

Here is my plan to export whale meat to the rest of the world from Australia and possibly New Zealnd. Both countries are known for having the biggest numbers of whale strandings anywhere in the world. Why is a mystery but many people have some very good theorys but no true facts. One true fact is that no matter how hard we try we can't seem to convince the stranded whales to return to sea and stay there. Volunteers work their backsides off and have learnt a lot about how to keep the poor buggers alive but I think the best way to deal with them is to euthenase them when it becomes evident they are not goig to return.
So now we have up to fifty carcasses sitting on the beach about to become infested with maggots and be torn apart by seabirds. They would also start to get a bit whoofy on the nose. This in itself is a good reason to try and keep them off our shores by returning them to whence they came.
In the past it has been up to local councils, Parks & Wildlife and so on to get the animals buried. What a waste of resources. In years gone by the stranded whales would have been a boon to coastal indigenous populations. Imagine the amount of protein just laying there for the taking. The first fleet could have used some luck like this as it was struggling to survive. If this had happened perhaps whale meat would even now be often served on the barbie? However we are faced with the fact that we must get rid of the carcasses. Withourt putting to fine a point on it why not butcher them on site and have the meat sent to Iceland, Norway and Japan and perhaps even keep a bit back for what I am sure would soon become a strong domestic market among the gourmands.
Yuk and foul play do I hear people say? It is all a matter of how you see it. Human corpses are treated differently by different cultures. Many bodies in India are floated off in the Ganges and they feed the crocodiles. In ancient Tibet the corpses were flung off high cliffs to feed the birds. Once the mortal coil is done with it realy is only a big package of protein.
I love whales and dolphins as much as the next person. But if we could save a few in the wild by sharing out our abundant natural resources with the rest of the world, why not?
