Officaly and old fart boating

I do enjoy a champagne sunset
On the weekend I officialy became an old fart boater. I joined the ranks of those cronicaly unemployable and lecherous looking old men that can obtain man's most prized possesion, the Seniors Card. I will be able to get discounts and cheap rail travel to sooth my nerves at finaly achieving this milestone. Sure the pension card is slightly more efficient and gets you better discounts but that means you can't be employed any more. (Yes there are opportunities.)
I spent the weekend mucking about on a large catamaran. Firstly sailing it on the lake with my son, then anchored overnight for the birthday party and next day I took a group of people out for a charter. It was blowing up to eighteen knots and though this boat is a heavy charter boat and not a racer I was impressed at its turn of speed and ease of handling. I think in a later post I will talk more on that. It was very sunny with plenty of action to view on the the water. One of the best boating weekend days we have had in ages so lots of people were out there enjoying themselves.
After eating and drinking and overindulging in both, I managed to crawl into my bunk and pass out with only the sound of dew softly falling on the deck to hamper my peace and quiet. Yes it was that quiet on the lake on Saturday night. Sunday morning the true alcolholics woke without a hangover craving another cleansing ale but we settled for lots of coffee and a huge breakfast of bacon, eggs and canned spagheti.
I managed to drink the oldest wines in my depleted cellar. (shared between 4)

1 bottle of De Bortolis Botrytis Sautern 1982
I will give you more on the tastings in a later post as well as the foods we indulged in. For now a little nap perhaps before looking at the rest of my life!
