Ahhhh! What I am missing out on.

This week I am supposed to be in Phuket, Thailand for the Kings Cup Regatta. Due to commitments at TAFE and exams to be done I can't make it. For the last six months I have been putting together crew for the yacht "Millennium" and all those lucky people, almost 20 in all will be enjoying what I can't. No point grizzling. I have recieved emails from the organisers and here is what is happening this month to celebrate Thailand's King's Birthday 60th birthday on the throne.
Royal Phuket Marina is again hosting one of the final parties of Asia's premier yachting regatta, the Phuket King's Cup, on Friday, December 8.
The Phuket King's Cup Regatta is Asia's biggest and most popular regatta -- a week-long celebration of great parties, great sailing and lots of fun.
The finale is the biggest party of all and it will be the second year running that RPM hosts the event for approximately 800 yachtsmen and guests.
The 20th Phuket King’s Cup Regatta is being contested from December 2-9 in the Andaman Sea, off Kata Beach. The regatta was recently named 'Yachting Event of the Year' at the Christofle Asia Boating Awards and attracts around 100 racing yachts and crews from around the world.
The Royal Phuket Marina party, held after five days of racing, is famed as one of Asia's liveliest and this year's event in the Town Square, marking the King of Thailand’s 60th year on the throne, promises to be yet another fabulous celebration including live entertainment, fireworks, international DJs and performers.
RPM has now firmly established itself as a highly sought-after event and party venue.
And for the rev heads something special.
RPM is sponsoring and partnering a round of the thrilling Rubson Raid international speedboat challenge from December 9-16. The marina will house and prepare boats before and after each race, as well as the base for administration and coordination of race activities.
An extravagant prize-giving ceremony attended by several government and affiliated officials will also be hosted on Saturday, December 16.
After criss-crossing the high-seas on all four corners of the world, the international speedboat competition is in Phuket for the sixth round of its international race series. Rubson Raid brings teams of four to some of the world's most exotic locations, with the myriad of Andaman Sea isles one of the most idyllic venues.
In search of the ultimate thrill, the competition incorporates speed races, navigational trials, time-stages, bio-game fishing and much more.
And if that is not enough, now that Dragon Air is back flying direct from Hong Kong to phuket. After holidaying in Honkers or doing business there you may want to hop on a quick flight to relax in your own personal marina front villa with lap pool, hot and cold running staff and all the frills.
The eight 4-5 bedroom homes with private swimming pools and doorstep moorings are virtually the last residences available for sale from the first phase of the stunningly successful development.
Nearly all the first 66 penthouses and condominiums were snapped-up by investors within three months of going on sale.
